Rush

'2112'

Mercury, UK, 1976

9100 039

UNQUESTIONABLY THE greatest Rush studio album setting the benchmark for all future progressive hard rock bands. The conceptual content is incredibly compelling and the music is just out of this world. Rush had previously hinted at making a breakthrough statement but no one expected a work of this magnitude. As a statement of intent its pretty much perfect.

Side one contains the mega opus; '2112' in its entirety whilst the flip side contains shorter sharper tracks such as 'A Passage To Bangkok' and crowd pleaser 'Something For Nothing'. The balance is brilliantly engineered between light and shade and nothing is left to chance. This really is an essential purchase for any fan of seventies rock, prog or guitar playing.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
