Description

RUSH Fly By Night Vinyl LP 1975 Mercury SRM-1-1023 Masterdisk 1st Press ~ Tested
The record sounds great and strong on my properly calibrated turn table and there are no skips, stops, or problems.
There are some surface noise on the record and some pops and noise at the beginning (before any tracks have begun playing) and some noise in between songs. I noticed the surface noise mostly on Side 1 at the beginning and in between tracks although that doesn't mean that there isn't some light popping while songs are playing as well. Side 2 seemed to play even better, strong and clear, with some light surface noise at the beginning of some songs that seems to fade out as the record plays. Note that I have not professionally cleaned the record beyond using an anti-static brush to get rid of noticeable dust prior to playing.
Overall, I consider this record to play clean and clear.
I also try to grade these albums as conservatively as possible. A VG+ (very good +) might be an EX (excellent) to someone else. It certainly might be that with some cleaning.
The album's outer cover is in rough condition (see photos 3 and 4). While the colors on the front cover are vibrant, there is a lot of wear and damage to the cover which is coming apart at the seams. It is still intact, but likely will not last long without some exceedingly careful handling.
The inner sleeve is a generic Mercury records paper sleeve which is intact and seems to be in very good vintage condition (no noticeable rips or damage).
This inner sleeve will be included within the record's original cover and the vinyl will be placed within an archival-quality non-scratching inner sleeve. The record cover will also be protected within a clear plastic outer sleeve.
Please view all photos carefully and close-up for more detailed information on the condition.
Below is more detailed information pertaining to this album:
