Condition: The condition is accurately described as below:
Gatefold outer sleeve: this is the gatefold sleeve, and overall, I grade this sleeve as EXCELLENT condition in line with Record Collector grading model. This is such a hard sleeve to find in this condition! Ultra-soft card which always, always turned up with moderate to major rubbing and look totally worn out, but not this copy! Superb copy! Minimal rubbing and wear on both the front and rear panels, with a superb spine in box format with only tiny wear on the lower spine corner! Checkout the pictures! I have been collecting Rush the band since 1978, and I have never come across a better cover in this condition of this classic album! Minimal creasing and rubbing evident on both front and rear panels. This is a really excellent first pressing sleeve, if not museum condition! Includes 1st pressing credentials of 'Printed and made by Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd, England.
Inner sleeve: very delicate polyline sleeve is in minimum EXCELLENT condition, with no rips or tears, and minimal creasing from being a 42-year-old inner sleeve! First pressing inner sleeve with correct 'Printed in England' wording.
Vinyl record: This is thin, single disk vinyl album with the correct picture 'Mercury' labelling. The vinyl’s plays flat with only very minor warping. The labels are in stunning EXCELLENT (+) condition! Minimal handling and potentially one or two plays only. Vinyl surfaces match the label grading, with deep shine, and minimal if any marks. No scratches, scuffs and minimal if any hairlines! Side one played superb all the way through with no jumps, pops and minimal if any static background noise! Side two: this side is a little but more problematic, with minor noise into the initial section of 'Trees', and what’s appears to be a minor pressing fault leading to a moderate recurring 'click' in the exceptionally quite first 43 seconds of the track 'La Villa Strangianto'. So, a copy that looks superb, but with the minor pressing fault on side two I will harshly grade overall as VERY GOOD condition!
Rarity: superb album getting rarer as an early press, UK version in gatefold sleeve.
