Description

I’ve had this record since around 1987. It was a gift from a very good friend, who purchased it at Spin-More records in downtown Kent, Ohio (which, ironically, is still in business!)

This is a very rare promotional release by Anthem Records, Catalog # SPE-003. I believe it’s called either “Live in St. Louis” or “Live From St. Louis”. I started combing the web for info, and I learned the following:

“This is a live album recorded on the band's 'Permanent Waves' tour at the Keil Auditorium in St. Louis Missouri on February 12th-14th 1980. It was released to Canadian radio stations in March 1980 to support a 90 minute 'in concert' special. Around 35 stations actually broadcasted the show. It comes in a plain white sleeve and white labels.”

I’m not sure how many pressings were made of this promo disc, but I have been unable to find another copy of it at any of the online auction or collector sites. Take a look for yourself, this is pretty unique.

I've played it once or twice on a high-end turntable many years ago, just to dub it onto cassette. The record has never been touched by anybody but me. I'm meticulous about caring for my records and CDs, and it’s been stored horizontally in a cool, non-smoking environment.

There are no liner notes, only this on the bottom corner:

All tracks recorded live in St. Louis 1980

Entire package and contents C 1980 Lee Music Ltd.

All Rights Reserved. Cover printed in USA

Distributed by Tower Isle Records Toronto, Canada
