It's hard to believe that Rush's sixteenth studio album turned TWENTY FIVE years old this past September. 'Test For Echo' was released in late 1996, and was the last to feature production by longtime Rush producer Peter Collins. Collins produced several Rush albums in the 80s, and returned in the 90s to produce 'Counterparts' and 'Test For Echo'. Collins has worked with Alice Cooper and Queensryche, among others.

A special, limited edition promotional picture disc was released from the USA. Actual release date is on the record as 2009. The number made is also unclear, but from what I can figure out, it was either 50 or 100 copies made. Then production was stopped. Many people don't believe this even exists! Some say it's a myth. I'm here today to tell you, it's real, and it's beautiful!

Picture discs prices are determined by the availability. If many were made, the prices usually stay pretty low. If only a few were made, then the value greatly increases. Rush has fans all over the world. Millions of them! So if ONLY 50 to 100 of these were made, then you can do the math... This isn't just a picture disc. It's an investment! I bought this for several hundred dollars a few years back. And it took me years to find it!

The picture disc itself looks great, and the vinyl is still all shiny and clean! There are a few flaws, mainly minor ones, made in the manufacturing process. (See last 4 close-up pics for the flaws.) The worst one seems to be around the spindle hole, on the B side. The A side looks pretty sweet, and is, of course, the album's cover artwork. The B side is song titles and credits (and more art from the cover). This would look amazing hanging up on the wall in a picture disc frame! Many people have the import pic discs of 'Fly By Night', 'Caress of Steel', and 'A Farewell to Kings', but are missing this one.
