Gatefold cover is in VG+ with some mild wear and creases...   Date stamped on inside jacket is August 29,1976...

The two lp set is in VG++ condition...   Included with the set is a 3" x 5" card stating that this is a limited edition... Total pressing 1750 of which this copy is # 001122...

According to 'Records Worth Owning': "Definitely one of the most unusually fine direct-to-disc productions ever undertaken.

It's a two-disc set that actually has you start with side 4.

That side is a test record of sorts, that provides a full set of frequencies from 15kHz down to 30Hz, all set at zero db so you can "zero out" your system. Then on that same side, excerpts are provided, now that you are zeroed, of Stepan's playing. You will be quite taken by it, but know, that what you hear so excellently is the master tape version of his playing, not at all the direct-cut.

"That's what the other three sides provide: Side 1 is direct-cut with close micing of the piano in a bare 40' by 45' by 20' ceiling room. Side 2 offers up the very same direct cutting, only with the mics pulled back 9'. Then side 3, my favorite, though you may disagree, has the mics 9' back, in a figure-eight position, the floor fully carpeted.
