Trattandosi di un film a carattere drammatico sulla privazione della libertà personale, i brani che l'accompagnano sono densi di atmosfere angosciose, malinconiche e tormentate. Al bel valzer dal ritmo sostenuto dell'inizio del film si succedono temi dove lo stato d'animo del recluso è sempre più turbato. Così su un tessuto musicale di carattere sinfonico, prigione, cella d'isolamento, manicomio, rivolta dei carcerati vengono descritti da temi di straordinaria enfasi drammatica. Il culmine è raggiunto da " DISPERAZIONE DI UN DETENUTO IN ATTESA DI GIUDIZIO " dal forte impatto emotivo dettato dal sostenuto vigore sinfonico dell'orchestra. Come in ogni fiaba non manca il lieto fine dove la riacquistata libertà e il ritorno agli affetti familiari sono ben tratteggiati da un romantico e purificatore valzer : " INCONTRO GIUSEPPE E INGRID ". 11 tracce.

Notes : music Carlo Rustichelli, orchestra Bruno Nicolai. Being a dramatic film concerning the deprivation of the personal freedom, the score is rich of distressing, gloomy and tormented atmospheres. To the magnificent waltz by the hectic pace of the opening credits follow sad themes which describe the degeneration of the prisoner's mood. In this way jail, isolation cell, mental hospital, rebellious prisoners are reflected by tunes of strong dramatic emphasis. The climax on " DISPERAZIONE DI UN DETENUTO IN ATTESA DI GIUDIZIO " characterized by a great emotional impact for the orchestration's vigorous symphonic transport. As in every fairy tale arrives the happy end : the regained freedom and the return to the family life is exalted by the romantic and purifying waltz " INCONTRO GIUSEPPE E INGRID ".  11 tracks.
