Description
Hello Again, friends of great music! This show, for all you vinyl lovers, and there are a bunch out there judging by the number of you that have responded to my rare and old vinyl radio shows, is a rare vinyl that you will not find on eBay ever. It is called COUNTRY MUSIC OF THE 80'S and aired on the CREATIVE RADIO NETWORKS. It is a ONE OF A KIND SPECIAL COMMEMORATING THE 1980'S IN COUNTRY MUSIC. It is a 24 hour special that stations could use over 24 weeks, an hour a week or as a 24 hour holiday special such as over the 4th of July or Memorial or Labor Day holidays. THIS SPECIAL HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED. IT COMES TO YOU IN ITS ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX FROM THE CREATIVE RADIO SHOWS NETWORKS The box itself is stamped "Phonograph Records - Keep Away from Heat" and in another part of the box "Phonograph Records - Fragile" You will receive all 24 lp's, NEVER PLAYED IN MINT NEW CONDITION, along with the cue sheets in excellent new condition. For those of you who collect radio shows, this show was somewhat different from most. It was sold directly to stations. It was not sent on what is called a 'barter' arrangement where the station gets the show and must air it at a certain time with the national commercials included on the show itself. This was meant for stations to use when they wanted and there is NO national advertising on any of the lp's. Stations were to sell their own advertising for the show as they saw fit. Each hour of the program has breaks for stations to insert these commercials, usually after every two or three songs. So you get 24 lp's, each designed for an hour's play and each containing approximately 13 songs, dj information, interviews, and the best country music of the 1980's. In addition, it was not just music played randomly, each program segment has its own theme so the music is all arranged in great themes that tie them together. It is an amazing show. I am not going to list all the songs because after all that would be about 300 songs I would have to list. But I will list a show or two to give you an idea. Here is what you will hear on the first two hours of the show: Don't Get Above Your Raising You May See Me Walking Ain't No Money The Barron Elvira Cherokee Fiddle Lucille You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma I'm Gonna Hire A Wino All I Ever Need Is You I Feel Sorry For Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight Looking For Love My Heart The Door He Stopped Loving Her Today 9 to 5 Old Flame My Home's In Alabama do You Wanna Go To Heaven Big City Picking Up Strangers True Love Ways Your Memory Ain't What It Used To Be and I Believe In You Now that is only one twelfth of the music you will get in this huge package. Over 300 songs all arranged in featured segments with interviews. AND, IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX THAT I OPENED TO GET THE CUE SHEETS AND ONE OF THE LP'S OUT TO MAKE A PICTURE FOR THE LISTING! Basically, if it was popular in the 80's, it will be on this show somewhere! It is a great show. It is a great 24 HOUR SPECTACULAR. The music and presentation is outstanding. Creative networks were known for their full length features like this. They did them on Elvis, the Beach Boys, and other specials in their heyday. You will love this show and it belongs in your collection. It is a great variety of music along with interviews and fun facts. How can you beat that!!!!!! You will super great tunes and the best part is that you can hear them again and again, over and over, whenever you want. Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs. Also, keep in mind that this and all shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio history. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price Good Luck and God Bless You.
