Description

Rainbow : Captured Live Official RKO Networks double vinyl live US radio show – Live Cardiff St Davids Hall Sept 14th 1983.

This official double live album was released I seem to recall in Feb 1984

This is Show 2.

Cat No Cl 284 - A (to D)

These were pressed in very limited numbers, distributed to radio shows in US for broadcast over the radio, hence FM broadcast quality recording. These are now becoming increasingly hard to find, particularly this side of the pond.

When originally bought was played at most 2 or 3 times, then filed away in their polythene sleeves on a shelf…only to now surface.

Visual inspection reveals disc in apparent excellent (virtually mint) as new condition, deep glossy lustre. with no obvious significant flaws.

Please see the photos.

The original card sleeve is in good condition, still in its shrink wrap, minor scuffs to corners from storage.

Original que sheet present, original DJ put a biro line through each side listing as he played it to presumably help him keep track as he played it on air.

Selling on behalf of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.

I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

Important perspective info, please read….thanks ?.

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection , (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up ?).

Any questions or if you need more photos please ask.

If you have any  issues please contact me before leaving feedback as my intention is to give you the e-bay buying experience that I myself would want, i.e. customer satisfaction all round.
