EbayEinstellenTilo Ramones / Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Rock On! Split LP 1977 SWEDEN ONLY RELEASE (Sweden 1977 - Philips - 9199 272 )Very rare original 1977 SWEDEN ONLY RELEASE on Philips. Some background info about this release: in order to specially promote some of their (at the time) newer artists, Phonogram/Philips released a series of five split-albums under the "Rock On" banner in 1977. The first album in the series was this split-LP, featuring the Ramones and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. All the records in this series were pressed in Norway for the Swedish market and released on the Philips label. All albums in the series came with a couple of extra features - see below for details. The Ramones side features songs from the self-titled debut album and "Leave Home", together with two live tracks: “California Sun/I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You“. But the sleeve designer somehow didn't get the titles right, hence the two Ramones live tracks are mis-labeled as “Warm California Sun“ & “I Wanna Walk Around With You“ on this release!!
The albums in the series contained the following extra features:
* An infosheet with band biographies (in Swedish) on one side and info about the specific albums in the series on the other (see pictures 3&4)
* A fill out form to be able to participate in a raffle. Printed on blue paper, it tells the buyer that there are "410 items to won as prize". Among the various advertised prizes were 20 handprinted Ramones T-shirts (incredibly rare today) and 35 copies of the “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker“ UK 12" (see pictures 5&6)
* A big 12“x12“ sheet with stickers from bands in the series: the Ramones, The Runaways, Rush, Graham Parker, Hawkwind and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (see picture 7)
* A small single sticker of the band Clover (sadly missing with this copy – see below).
This copy here is almost complete with nearly all features and only the Clover, the Graham Parker & the Tom Petty stickers from the sticker sheet are missing. Otherwise this copy is complete and overall in really nice condition, which is very hard to find these days!!

Grading System / How is the condition of used sound carriers, DVDs, etc. graded?
The condition grading system for used sound carriers, DVDs, etc. is based upon the internationally accepted anglo-american grading system provided by „Goldmine“ or „Record Collector“ magazine
Vinyl & Sleeve grading system
SS/STILL SEALED - the record is still factory sealed and has never been removed from it's sleeve
NM/NEAR MINT - (the highest grade - except for STILL SEALED) vinyl is visually perfect - no scratches or marks at all. Cover is like new
EX+/EXCELLENT PLUS - cover or record have just a few faint paper sleeve marks or completely insignificant hairline scratches that do not affect play at all - visually they should be barely noticeable
EX/EXCELLENT - record has been handled or played carefully, and may have some light paper or spindle marks or other very minor flaws that really shouldn't affect play at all. It will still play clean with very little or no surface noise. Minor signs of wear on the cover - but nothing significant
VG+/VERY GOOD PLUS - record has been played, has some light / hairline-type scratches - but nothing that stands out without close inspection or that can be felt (ie, nothing deep). Really should only be noticed between songs or possibly in very quiet spots and then should not be distracting or continuous. Cover could have light ringwear, small tears , scuffs or small seam splits
VG/VERY GOOD - record has been well played, could have some scratches, perhaps some minor groove wear. There will be some surface noise, occasional clicks or pops - but no skips or jumps. Cover has been well used. Possible tears, seam splits or scuffs
Unlike many other sellers I rarely grade a used item as „mint“. Usually the items are in EX (excellent) to VG (very good) condition.
I usually do not sell records in less than VG condition.
I believe that I grade fair & correct as my feedback shows:
customers are satisfied and can deal with my grading system
Last but not least: I'm a collector myself and follow the golden rule: treat your customers as you wish to be treated yourself and there'll be no trouble
If still in doubt: please feel free to contact me ahead of buying and / or bidding and I gladly explain how the grading system works and can comment specifically on the individual item in question
