Description
I have up for auction a record (78) on a very early 1900s light gray Columbia Phonograph Co. label. Interesting label with much of the information given in a different alphabet; I am guessing Greek, but not sure (possibly Russian). Last patent dates I can find are 1902, so most likely pre-1904 (w.Grand Prix-Paris date of 1900). It is #35121 by a Soprano accompanied by Piano, I believe and selection is "Ave Maria". Her name is given in the other alphabet, but someone has pencilled in the name 'Emlia Kristman', so that may be who it is. Condition of record is only fair, as there are a few faulty grooves at beginning/piano intro and a couple of noisy grooves during the latter part. condition. I offer more as a fairly rare label collectible, not for playability, as is the case for most of the very old recordings.
