Description
THIS 33 rpm "deep groove" jazz album dates to 1959 on the JARO label with a catalog number of 8004,in stereo.This is an original STEREO pressing from 1959.... NOT A REISSUE.The album is titled THE MESSAGE by sax player J.R. Monterose (Frank Anthony Monterose Jr. 1927-1993) backed by Tommy Flanagan on piano,Jimmy Garrison on bass and Pete La Roca on drums.Track:SIDE 1) Straight Ahead,Violets For Your Furs,Green Street Scene and Chafic,SIDE 2)You Know That,I Remember Clifford,Short Bridge.The jacket is graded VG+ with some stains on back,small piece of seam splitting bottom and the usual edge wear for an album this old,the glossy vinyl is very highest VG+ with just a hint of noise now and then.This is an overall very nice copy of a super rare jazz album.My pictures show some wear in the black areas of the label but this is not an indication of the condition of the vinyl.The album was recorded on November 24 1959 at the famous Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs,New Jersey.Each side of the vinyl has a pressing error "bubble" that does not effect play.The item is being relisted as the original winner made an error in his bid amount and did not know how to cancel it.
