Description

Rare 10-inch shellac record: PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT - His Prayer for the Nation, Delivered on D-DAY, JUNE 6, 1944; part 1/part 2; American Recording Co., NY; "for home use only"; very nice picture label. I can't find any other copies of this available online, or even on any completed-auction pages - very rare, very clean, easily worth at least twice the opening bid.

CONDITION is VG+ (minor surface marks & scuffs, nothing I can feel; clean labels).

A NOTE ON SHIPPING SHELLAC RECORDS: I use the floating method, with the record sandwiched between strong pieces of cardboard with corrugate in opposite directions, then placed inside a larger sturdy box with packing material all around inside to prevent any movement (either peanuts, large-bubble wrap, or crumpled paper). Sometimes if I have old 10" LP jackets I don't need, I will put your record in it before sandwiching; otherwise will be in a paper sleeve. I will also always insure these with the USPS. Due to the extra time, materials, insurance, and overall high level of stress associated with shipping these safely (YOU know!), I am asking $6.00 for Media Mail shipping ($4 is actual shipping cost). I think it is reasonable, and I get the feeling that most collectors who buy these online are happy to pay a little extra for the added assurance.
