The recording begins as we hear Bing's train arriving in Hollywood, and he sings one line of his recent film hit, "Please" An announcer takes us to the Paramount Studios, where we hear Nat Finston's Paramount Studio Orchestra rehearsing. Bing arrives and greets Nat Finston... Finston speaks briefly and tells Bing of a new number for him... "Learn To Croon" Bing sings a great version of "Learn To Croon" with the Paramount Orchestra, that then begins to play "Moonstruck"... Bing says he knows that one too, and begins to sing "Moonstruck" The announcer breaks in to talk about the film and the cast, as Bing begins to whistle "Moonstruck" in the background. The recording end with Paramount co-eds cheering and spelling out "C-O-L-L-E-G-E H-U-M-O-R", Orchestra fanfare ends.
THIS IS A SPECIAL RECORDING, MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR PARAMOUNT'S PUBLICITY DEPT.. It does not use sound-track recordings or others sources for the content. Prior to late 1933, Paramount made several such Exploitation Records, all recorded specially for their specific film releases. The talent for such recordings (here Bing & Paramount Orch) were gathered in Victor's studios, just to make these recordings. Starting in late 1933, they began using soundtrack recordings (sometimes alternates), eliminating the need for special sessions These recordings were NOT available to the public. They were available For Sale to film exhibitors only, for avdvertising purposes. They were used in Theatre lobbies, or arranged by theatre managers for playing over local radio stations, etc. Condition is V+ to E- and plays well and is truly a "special" recording featuring Bing Crosby. Media Mail is $8.50 within the U.S.A. Postage extra outside of U.S., will be estimated and invoiced for England, Canada or Japan Please wait for my invoice before playing...
