You are bidding on the multi-LP American Top 40 set from the week of December 25, 1976. This is American Top 40's Special Christmas Countdown. AT40 fans are scratching your heads and saying what??? December 25, 1976 should be the first half of the Top 100 of 1976!

Well, you are right with that too. However, the year end was scheduled to fall on a Christmas weekend, the AT40 staff dusted off the master tapes for, made some edits and cuts and had an additional special to offer stations. The main differences between this and the 1973 version are the opening and closing of the show and (thanks to Ken Ott) the entire teaser for the Carpenters' "Merry Christmas Darling" is gone because the 1973 version talked about chart action, etc. The 1976 is just a cold "and at number 32 is the Carpenters"

This was a VERY limited print and hence its rarity.

I obtained this, and about 30 other shows recently, from an employee who worked at the ORIGINAL AT40 PRESSING PLANT. These sets are in pristine condition right, literally right off the assembly line. Also included will be the COMPLETE remastered CD set of the program straight from the master tapes. As the restoration company for American Top 40, this is identical to the master we sent to the archives for Premiere Radio for future airing.
