Rare ? Calypso records 78 shellac 7 records. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
I have this small collection of calypso on 78. Seven records. I cant find many of the artists or titles online, so there may be some rarities here. I am starting them at just £7, only a pound each, to see if anyone still collects shellac records.
I really would prefer any buyer to pick these up, considering how delicate this stuff is. if you want me to post them, you will probably be a collector so I will want you to send me some instructions on how to pack them. I do pack fairly well, but I normally sell books, which don't tend to shatter into little bits when mis-handled.
The condition is pretty good. There is one minor scratch, which I have tried to show, but I have no idea how well they play as I dont have any sort of record player these days.
There is minor damage to one central hole, and another appears to have been repaired.
The unpictured record is on the Melodisc label, Lord Kitchener singing 'Food from the West Indies with the Vincent Street Six / ' Kitch'
There is also a warped record you can have if you want, London Label, Marie Bryant singing 'Tomato' - Calypso / Rhumboogie Anna
If I am posting these they will probably all pack under 2 kg , so £3, but I may have to leave out the Marie Bryant to keep the weight down.
I always let auctions run full term, certainly on the first pass. I may take offers if I need to relist them.
