Description

I think it is is a collectors dream to find a box of records in a secluded place and then find out that you have something very valuable and that us what I hope is the case here. A box of acetates was discovered locked away in a closet for over 55 years and I was lucky enough to acquire it. This is a Soundcraft acetate by Charlie Parker on Side 1 and Stan Kenton and June Christy on Side 2. I did a little research and found out that the Charlie Parker Mosaic set was made from Soundcraft acetate discs so I hope that this is also a rare find.On the label is says F-2 then has the name of Soundcraft, it then says Full Spectrum and the word Cool Blues on a line that says Title. On the next line it says by Charlie Parker, it also says Errol Garner piano, implying that Erroll may be on the piano. Under the last line that says date and the date of 1/27/50. It also has How High The Moon on side 2 with June Christy and Stan Kenton and the date was 1/28/50, recorded the day after the Bird session. This appears to be a 78 RPM record and a aluminum acetate. This should be a nice collectible for any Bird fan. The LP appears to be in fine shape, VG+ or better, I do not have any equipment capable of playing 78 RPM records, so I cannot tell the condition by play grading, this is visually graded and it appears to be very rare. Charlie Parker playing a unreleased tune and June Christy doing the same on the other side, this should be considered as a part of your collection. I will answer any question as best I can before auction close.I have a few more from this box that I will also list shortly and let you, the bidder decide how much they are worth.
