Sleeve: Beautiful Mint- w/ a whisper of front cover wear, tiny corner dings and a small corner bend at the top left corner of the back cover.
Record: Beautiful! Looks & plays Mint- / Has some sleeve storage marks from it's original plastic inner sleeve that do not affect play / VPI cleaned / By the spindle hole it looks like this LP may have been played once.
COMMENTS: Beautiful copy of this rare 60's French LP on the super cool Disques Ocora label. It's a gorgeous record package. The LP is enclosed in a laminated gatefold sleeve that features 20 pages of in depth liner notes and great black & white photos (text in French only). It's a wonderful LP of traditional stringed instrument music recorded by Charles Duvelle and Michel Razakandraina of Radiodiffusion Nationale Malgache. This LP won the 1963-64 Grand Prix De L'Acadimie Du Disque Francais from The Prix de L'Institut de Musiclogie
Musicians include : Talakimaso, Antanambao, Analalava, Nossi-Be, Sakahara, Tamatave, Rakotozafy, Sylvestre Randafison & Maurice Halison
I recently acquired a nice collection of rare African and World titles on the Disques Ocora, Unesco / Baren Reiter Musicaphon, Anthology, Folkways labels, as well as other labels. I will be listing them in the weeks & months to come.
NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
