Description
This Original Early 70’s Heavy Rock, Psych effort that hasn’t had an auction result since late 2010 and no Discogs sales. That, combined with the limited number of examples that appear to have survived the nearly 50 years since it’s birth, puts this one in the Holiest of Grails category.
An amazing Private Press release out of Florida, originally thought in error, to have a limited release of 500, a 2014 interview of lead singer John Anderson revealed the pressing count to be only 200, with most distributed locally to fans or given away. The entire album, with many of the lyrics, was produced in a single studio session, at Hyperbolic Recording Studios in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. College and the Vietnam War made this the only album the band would let loose on the world.
Vinyl is VG with no skips or hops, approaching VG+ with some light marks producing a few tics noticeable in softer sections and between tracks. Side 2 has an area that wasn’t perfectly pressed(2nd to last pic), leading to some light background whoosh, again noticeable in the softer passages and between the two tracks. When the music picks up and the rock is full bore, none of this is noticeable.
All that being said, the album exceeds the grade for a majority of play as seen and heard in the attached links.
The cover is VG+, at the lower end of the grade but presents very well with little to no ring wear, splits or writing. Some overall light wear from age, light wear to the corners and edges, a small crease and some scotch tape covering the name of Drummer Bob
