PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IN THESE EBAY AUCTIONS I USE A STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING SYSTEM THAT CAN'T DISAPPOINT ANYONE BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT ,FOR EXAMPLE, A VG+ COVER OR A VG+ VINYL IT'S EQUIVALENT TO "BAD CONDITIONS" BUT SIMPLY THAT MY GRADE IT'S STRICT AND PROBABLY EQUIVALENT TO AN EX OF SOMEONE ELSE WITH NOT A SO STRICT GRADE. I HAVE SOLD IN THESE AUCTIONS EX- RECORDS THAT WERE SURELLY M- COPIES BUT I PREFERE TO BE STRICT TO AVOID ANY DISAPPOINTEMENT BECAUSE I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY REPUTATION.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
graded VG+/VG for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: The black UK pressed Mercury label SMCL 20134 it's close to perfect with a couple of spindle wear and nothing more so EX-.
cover: The cover it's front laminated and basically has a light storage wear but the major flaw it's a riting on back deleted by the whitebait. Then the back it's a little tirty but I'm sure that with a good rubber work the problem may be solved. I grade this cover VG+ .
vinyl: The vinyl it's not perfect and it does have some evident marks, a couple on side one and some more on the side two. The side one plays very well without problems but the side two does have some minor cracking absolutelly under the music and impossibles to hear on the first track, some clicks between track 1 and track 2 plus some crackling and minor clicks here and there during the playing in B2 but absolutelly under the music except some rare instant, some crackling at the start of B3 and during the quieter moments of B3, 2 light clicks on B3, the track four "I Wonder Why" plays perfect, track 5 start with 12 clicks as soon as the music begin, the intensity of the disturb it's about 1/2 on a scale of 10 the remaining part plays well but there's 12 clicks more strong between the track 5 and the track 6 that finish when the track 6 start, the rest it's ok. Because all these clicks and light crackling I grade the side two VG- so the vinyl it's VG. The sound it's sharp and very high because a superb pressing and there's not annoying or continuos background crackles, but just these isolate problems but I understand that describing them the one after the other ... the result it's a bit annoying ... anyway this is the exact check of the sound. When you play this side relaxed and with the close up of the music these defects are much more acceptables and the sound quality i's so beautiful that the rest does have a very partial importance. The UK press of this lp it's really rare!
review: The Eyes debut album 'Crossroads Of Time' was eventually released early in 1969. It included two Graham Bond R&B songs (Bond also wrote the sleevenotes) 'Love Is The Law' and 'Crossroads Of Time' which was especially written for the band. It also included an interesting version of Love's '7 + 7 Is' while The Beatles' 'Yesterday' is given a treatment suggesting something of a jazz hymn. Ritchie Francis claimed the remaining songs of which 'Inspiration For A New Day' is noteworthy and 'Prodigal Son', which features some psychedelic guitar work from Ray 'Taff' Williams. 'Largo' is an arrangement of the Handel piece by Ritchie Francis and he claimed this was indicative of the way the group were going. A superb progressive record.... don't miss!!!
