Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
RARE Atlantic deep groove MONO vinyl LP 1246 - released 1956
EX- vinyl retains newish sheen and gloss. May have been played once or twice prior. A few superficial sleeve and / or pressing markings did not effect sound when play tested on NAD C555 turntable. Track four side one has two small scratches which registered as faintly audible clicks. Track one side one has six (muffled) consecutive pops on first portion of cut. Every sound anomaly I heard were reflective of the nearly 60 year old pressing - not from being played or mishandled. Overall, analogue sound has strong presence and resonance. Laminated cover is VG+ with straight spine and seams. Light shelf wear. Small stubs upper and lower throat, small dings upper and lower spine, and three very small lower seam wear marks. Some rear cover discoloration consistent with age.
