Originally released in 1971, the untitled "Four Symbols" album was re-released on Atlantic Records in 1978 in a strictly limited edition lilac vinyl.
Led Zeppelin’s 1971 fourth album was technically untitled, but its most commonly referred to as either Led Zeppelin IV or ZOSO, after the graphics that appear on the label. Regardless of title, it’s perhaps their best-known album, containing such iconic songs as Black Dog, Rock and Roll, When the Levee Breaks, and, of course, Stairway to Heaven. The album was a huge seller and continues to sell well to this day.
This album has no scratches and is in excellent condition throughout.
In 1978, it is claimed record companies around the world issued a series of coloured vinyl albums reissuing some of their well-known back catalogue. In the UK, one of those titles was Led Zeppelin IV. These copies were widely exported to the U.S., and may, indeed, have been made for export only. This purple vinyl pressing of Led Zeppelin IV is the only authorised coloured vinyl album that was released anywhere in the world during the time that the band was still recording. Thus, it is a must-have for any serious Led Zeppelin collector.
