Description

This is a rare Miles Davis Vol. 2 Blue Note BLP 5022 10” LP. It is a first issue. It says Blue Note 5022, 33 1/3 Microgroove, Modern Jazz Series in the top right corner. And says Blue Note Records, 767 Lexington Ave, New York 21 on bottom right corner of back cover. The vinyl is very thick/heavy. The LP features Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Gil Coggins, Percy Heath, Jay Jay Johnson & Jimmy Heath. The song list is as follows:

Side One

Tempus Fugit
Enigma
Ray's Idea

Side Two

Kelo
I Waited For You
C.T.A

I am not very familiar with LP grading, but I will attempt to describe the condition as best I can. I believe the vinyl is a strong VG. The fidelity is very good for this LP's age. There is some surface noise, mostly on the opening of the first track of both sides. But to me, this does not detract from the sound of this rare classic early Miles Davis LP. I am a musician who is sensitive to LP surface noise and I thought the fidelity was quite good. Also, I recognise that LP's of this age, and even many newer LP's, are hard to find without some surface noise. When I played the LP on my turntable (more than once), there were no skips.

I believe the cover is in overall VG condition. The front cover, in particular, has aged well. There is one word written in pen on the front cover (inside the "D" of Davis), and the price and one other word is written in the top left corner of the back cover. The cover itself is very thick and strong and is NOT seperating at the top or bottom like I've seen on some of my other similar LP's of this age. So the cover is still very solid and nicely bound. The back cover is a little dirty, but still looks very nice, I think. All the text on the back cover is very readable. Please see my pictures for details of cover condition. I've tried to describe this LP as accurately as possible. I believe this is a rare Miles Davis first issue in desirable condition. If you have *any* questions about this item, please email me!
