Description

Very rare original internal Motown master tape from 5 September 1979. This is a set of Calvin Harris engineered mixes for Jermaine Jackson's debut album "Let's Get Serious" from 1979 (released 1980). Jermaine was one of the original Jackson 5 (and brother of Michael) but stayed at Motown when the brothers left to join Epic/CBS. He stayed as he was married to Berry Gordy's daughter! Album was produced by Stevie Wonder who also played drums on the tracks!I bought this from a tape collector and recycler in the US who got it as part of a batch of studio tapes. I just bought as a piece of memorabilia so have never used it nor can comment on the tracks contained. However when I bought (about 10 years ago) I was advised that it did play perfectly and that some of the tracks slightly differed from the final mixes on the album. I am putting a higher price on this due to rarity as a simple piece of memorabilia and also the fact it was not cheap when I bought it. If it does not sell at this price I am happy to keep - but would prefer if it goes to a serious Jacksons collector!
