Rare and brilliant Northern Soul/Crossover 45 from Detroit soul legend Jack Montgomery. "Beauty Isn't Born" / "Instrumental" (Austen's A-0001) BIB would appear to be the last of four 45s from this tremendous Michigan singer. Released in approximately 1970, it's something of a departure from his earlier discs: a mellow, well structured midtempo soul song with acoustic guitar and restrained orchestration all topped with Jack Montgomery's exceptional tenor voice. Playing surface is in M- condition; labels are virtually pristine.
