In the new Manship guide, there is a comment about how "the supply of actual rare collectable soul vinyl in mint minus condition has shrunk." I could not agree more. I still am able to find great soul 45s here in the states, but they often have writing on the center label and display a fair amount of surface scuffing. Let it be said now...this promo record of the Northern Soul single Beverly and the Del Capris "Mama I Think I am in Love" is Mint Minus. This record features Billy Butler (a great solo Northern Soul artist in his own right) who started his career in the early doo-wop days and who went on to form Beverly and the Del Capris. The recording "Mama, I Think I'm in Love" landed them a recording contract with Columbia Records. As you may know Billy Butler then went on to form the Optimistics, whose work was released on the same label as the Moments and the Whatnots: All Platinum Records.
