Description
Artist: THE CHEROKEES
Titles (composers):
A: "Cherokee” (Ray Noble)
B: "Harlem Nocturne" (Earle Hagen)
Label and year of release: CALDWELL 404 - 1960
Producer: not listed o label (but credited to Mort Garson on Guyden Picture Sleeve)
Grading: Looks crummy, but plays VG- (A) and VG (B)
Label Condition: VG+/VG++ (see pics)
U.S. shipping: $3.00 for any number of 45’s. Standard mail if 1-2, media mail if more.
Intl. Shipping: $7.50 + another dollar for each additional 45 purchased.
Comments: Original local pressing of a 45 that was subsequently leased to Guyden (2044) for national distribution. Two instrumentals with guitar and sax alternating on lead. The B-side, which by now is the more popular, is a reinterpretation of the 1940 jazz standard, performed over a beat very similar to that of ‘Peter Gunn’ (a big hit the previous year for Duane Eddy).
