Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Pacific Jazz deep groove PROMOTIONAL MONO vinyl LP PJ-1204 - released 1955 (1st pressing)
The VG + deep groove vinyl may have been played once prior by evidence of one small spindle mark each side. The labels have gold promo stamps. Test played on NAD C555 turntable, while revealing great analogue sound, also displayed a low level of surface on several tracks. While not pervasively intrusive, it is there and my guess is it's attributable to the pressing or from having sat unplayed in original plastic sleeve for nearly sixty years. Still, it's an amazing record from the period and should not be overlooked for fans of the artist and / or genre. The VG + laminated cover has straight spine and seams. The cover displays the promotional text and the rear cover has (red) remnants of a previously stamped LP it was stacked on. There are also adhesive remnants in the form of a small spot center rear top seam and center throat where tape may have been used to seal cover. Cover photo and design William Claxton.
