THE CONGREGATION - Softly Whispering I Love You / Softly Whispering I Love You (Instrumental), UK 7" 45RPM Vinyl Single 1971, Columbia Records, DB 8830, Original Red Columbia Paper Sleeve, Very Rare.
This is a rare UK "Demonstration Record" on the Columbia records label. Dated "(15.10.71)".
This promo is very rare and possibly only a few may exist as they where asked to destroy them.
The promo contains the unreleased instrumental version on Side B. Stock copies were quickly also sent to DJ's to replace these demos, with Columbia Records stating "This copy of the above record replaces the one which you should already have in your possession. The reason for the replacement is that there is a technical fault on the original pressing, and we request that it be destroyed".

Excellent (E) condition. A couple of normal occasional vinyl pops and crackles on playing. No visible marks. Both sides play perfectly throughout with no skips or jumps.
