"WITCHES BREW"

AMONG THE VERY BEST RECORDINGS EVER MADE IN TERMS OF SONICS! STUNNING 3D SOUND, AWFUL DYNAMICS, REAL PRESENCE! YOU ARE TRANSPORTED TO KINGSWAY HALL, TOP RECORDING ENGINEERED BY THAT FAMOUS KENNETH WILKINSON/DECCA!

Side 1:

Grading overall VG+, only because on track 1 (Tam O'Shanter) the cartridge sticks, you have to lift the tonearm and move forward/beyond that spot (tracking weights like applied to my Shure V15 MKIII are obviously too low (1.3p) to go over this spot without hanging, I recall that this did not happen with my Ortofon SPU Classic before, apparently a matter of heavier pressure on the needle).

Other than that flaw, the record plays very well, grading except that spot VG++ for side 1. Still a huge joy to listen to that wonderful sound!

Side 2:

Grading overall VG++. Some tics on track 1 (Witches Brew). Again, for the rest of music on this side 2, a real joy to listen to the wonderful, realistic sound!

The cover unfortunately is damaged, parts of the sleeve missing, front still acceptable. Judge yourself from the pictures. Orginal inner sleeve (Decca).

I listen to the record before grading, both sides, no spot listening, both sides are judged for audio quality, flaws et al. All records cleaned 2-3 times (Kuzma washing machine) before listening starts, Nagaoka or MFSL rice paper sleeves for all records when put back into cover. Playback gear: Garrard 401, Ortofon AS-212 tonearm, Shure V15-III cartridge.

Record noise could get lower when more washing is done.

No return, private sale. But bid with confidence, my grading is conservative. Above all, no nonsense MINT gradings applied to records which are 50+ years old.

Thanks for bidding!
