The auctioned item it's one of the rarest progressive album in the world at moment and one of the rarest lps in our catalogue.
graded VG+/EX for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: the original white with red writings label it's in absolutelly perfect conditions, printed in far 1971 with SSYB 14 as catalogue number. It appear without marks, writings and just 2/3 spindle marks around the centre hole on each side.
cover: the cover it's a poster cover type with an inside big pocket where the vinyl it's inserted . It's matt and with a beautiful religious drawing where Moses come back between his people with the Ten Commandments tablets in his hands. The cover it's in nice conditions but altough not totally perfect because there is a small recoving sticker tear on the left upper corner in the white background of sky just before the front cover big writings and this is good because sincerelly it does not interfere with the painting and can easily repaired if you need make this. This type of problem it's quite common on this cover and I have see more bigger damages. There's also some minor wear to the seams where the poster it's bent but the spine it's quite well readable in full and this is an half miracle with a so thin spine...anyway there's some minor wear here too but not on the writings except for the last M of Commandements and the R of Salamander but I think we have to be satisfied for to have saved the rest! On the back there's a crease that it's perpendicular to the spine and nothing else as writings or others marks. I think that a good work of rubber may improve the white parts a lot anyway there's no so much of dirt to remove as you can see from the photos. I grade VG+ the cover because these problems but it's a strict grade that not mean trashed but in great conditions because it's a strict grade.
vinyl: the vinyl it's in great shape with his brilliancy totally intact and I can't see any mark so it's easylly an EX even in a strict grading system. It plays perfectelly without clicks, skips or crackles. I think it's impossible to find a better vinyl because this is just played but it's very clean with perfect sound.
review: This is a great progressive rock album and I don't remember another so good melodic progressive album with a so appropiate orchestral accompagnement. Maybe the Gravy Train/Ballad Of A Peaceful Man it's acceptable but this one it's excellent...really excellent. The organ it's the dominating instrument and I can assure you that there's a great sinergy between his powerful sound and the orchestra that it's much more dinamic that you maybe imagine and expecially the violins give a special energy to the sound as just in this genial album. If you remember the Deep Purple with Royal Philarmonica Orchestra please forget it...this is another planet, this is never boring but have a so energetic sound...simply a masterpiece. Great electric guitar solos too...great male vocal...Sax jazzy rock interludes...believe me you'll be not deluded ... it's not my interest too. The minimum bid it's really the minimum for to preserve my investment. This is a correct auction very different the many "pushed up" auctions I see all around! Please bid with confidence!
