Description

Tore Up/Lonely by Tommy Sleepy La Beff is a rare and legendary rockabilly 45 from Houston, Texas in 1963.  On the Wayside label from Houston, #1653/4, this 45 is an incredible and legendary wild rocker by a rockabilly legend who still plays an amazing live show. 13th Floor Elevators drummer, John Ike Walton, told me he played drums on this session, maybe so but I haven't heard that from anyone else.   This single is the original pressing and NOT the common bootleg, the original pressing is identified by the "Shelton" name in the deadwax, which is found on late '50s and early '60s 45s from the midwest and south.  This record has slight heat damage and hence has a hiss at one spot that cannot be heard once the music starts.   An incredible and legendary wild rocker by a rockabilly legend.
