Info from their website:
- Event description:
-- Garff B. Wilson, Professor of Rhetoric and Drama and Chairman of Public Ceremonies at UC Berkeley for over 30 years, gave a much loved annual solo performance of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at the California Alumni Association. He read aloud, seated next to the fire, dramatically assuming the voices of Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and old Scrooge himself. He was accompanied on the Campanile carillon by Margaret Murdock, who began ringing the Campanile chimes in 1923. It became a Cal tradition, and we post it here in the spirit of the holidays and in remembrance of one of Cal's most spirited alumni.
- About lost media:
-- This archived website commemorates Garff B. Wilson—Professor of Rhetoric and campus ceremonies chair—whose annual solo performance of A Christmas Carol became a long-standing holiday tradition. Although the original site included media from the performance, those files appear to have been omitted during a later website redesign. As a result, the links are no longer functional.
