Pretty rare...original British 1971 first pressing in cool gatefold cover on the highly collected UK Deram Records label... it's the powerful blues sounds of the mighty Keef Hartley Band, peaking in their grooves with the "Little BIG Man" album ...not released in the USA, and of course, worth the score....Hartley came to prominence as a member of the British R&B group The Artwoods before joining John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, contributing to the 1967 album Crusadelive album from the Jazz/Blues/R&B outfit, recorded at the Marquee Club in 1971. This history is of course far from complete and nor is it intended to be but it does chronicle the transition of a blues band rock band into one spiralling off into other directions, notably jazz rock.
While the first four albums by the Keef Hartley Band are very enjoyable. The pinnacle for many collector fans is definitely the live recording at London's Marquee Club called 'Little Big Band'. Many Keef Hartley Band favourites are packed into this recording including 4 tunes as 'Legoverture'! Even better is Keef announcing, after a deliberately botched 'God Save the Queen', 'Now you know why John Mayall didn't want me!'
The energy of the musicians, the warmth of the audience, the sheer fun of it all are captured perfectly on this recording. Little Big Band remains one of Hartley's most ambitious affairs.

CONDITION: The fragile UK Gatefold cover is clean, VG++ to "EX" (excellent) no seam splits, no bends, no writing and generally just some light handling wear. Keeper collectible
The vinyl is glossy both sides having only hard to see inner sleeve paper type scuffs, nothing to cause a problem, so call it VG++ visual, playing excellent. Solid.
