Description

An amazing triple record set dating back to the early 1900s under yhe title Musical Masterpieces.

It is a six sided recording of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite presented in a brown, faux leather, embossed, book type cover.

It bears the trade mark HMV dog and gramophone on front cover.

Interestingly the name Tchaikovsky is actually spelt
TSCHAIKOWSKY on the front cover yet appears as TSCHAIKOSKY ( no W ) on the spine! A 1

The discs themselves appear to be in excellent condition with no discernable scratches that I can see.
( I have no equipment to test it with so this is purely a visible inspection)

For the serious collector Disc one is numbered 6615A and 6615 B
Disc 2 is, 6616A and B and disc 3, 6617A and B.
There are also the original sleeve notes included.

It is classed as an Orthophonic Recording and was recorded by the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leopold Stokowski in 1926.

A fabulous addition to sny clasdical record collection.
