From 1968, comes the rare psych LP by The Monkees entitled Head on Colgems COSO5008. Probably The Monkees' finest crowning moment! Unfortunately they had been typecast earlier as teeny-boppers and this psych effort went basically unnoticed! It got some notice because of who was in the movie! Annette Funicello,Timothy Carey, T.C.Jones,Sonny Liston, Ray Nitschke,Carol Doda,Frank Zappa, and Victor Mature! Check out The Porpoise Song. Definitely the Monkees finest moment as psych-sters and one of the best Carole King-Gerry Goffin songs ever written. In the movie when they are in the water and this song is playing, it's one of the ultimate psychedelic trips! Yellow water,red blue and green swimmers, and everything a multitude of bright colors! This is the original press with the mylar mirror cover, and it's STILL SEALED!!
