Description

I have up for auction a record (Longer Playing 12" 78) on the dark blue and gold COLUMBIA Grand Prize banner type label from the early 1900s, circa 1910!  I recently acquired a large and impressive collection of classical 78s; quite a few pre-1915. Realized I had many more remaining so I will continue to list them for a while longer. This one is #A5440 by Mary Garden, Soprano with orchestra, in French. Selections are Louise-"Depuis le jour" (Charpentier) and Thais-"L'Amour est un vertu rare" (Massenet). The record is in excellent condition, little or no wear and scuffs and scratches are very few, light and surface variety. Surfaces still shiny and clean! Comes with an older Columbia 12" sleeve. Impressive condition for a record over a century old! Her signature etched onto trail-off area of Thais side as well!
