Description

A RARE, BEAUTIFUL RELIC!!! PINK FLOYD "THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN" Gorgeous 1971 United Kingdom LP pressing of 1967 landmark album; Columbia/EMI black & white logos label (SCX 6157). Lovely laminated cover gloss that extends one-quarter-inch around the edge of the spine. 
Superlative sound emanates from this groundbreaking masterpiece that oozed from the dangerously creative mind of the one and only Syd Barrett. These early 1970s United Kingdom pressings can in many ways champion Audiophile engineering by current day triumph ants like Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL). 
Barrett's unique songwriting and vocal stylizing influenced generations of musicians and artists to follow. Lead guitarist, lead songwriter and violist, visionary, artist, and hero to and best friend of fellow bandmate Roger Waters, Barrett fell from grace like an angelic figure storming its way through hell. 
It is for good reason that Roger Waters dedicated an entire album--"Wish You Were Here" to his lost friend, as well as based songs from "Dark Side of the Moon" on Barrett's irreparable torment ("Us and Them" and "Time").
Futuristic songs such as "Astronomy Domine" remained a Floyd concert favorite, as did "Interstellar Overdrive;" whereas whimsical creations like "The Scarecrow" and "The Gnome" emanate from the innocence of childhood literature extrude with adult gruesomeness.
