Description
In 1930 the Wilding Company made a one-reel sound film titled WILD FLOWERS which promoted the new Studebaker Champion with a hot band and girl singers performing on a huge mock up of the car. The musical direction is shown on the title card as by Jean Goldkette, and on screen the band is led by Victor Young.
You are bidding on a V+ condition 16 inch shellac original Vitaphone style soundtrack disk for this film. lots of peppy music and girl harmony singing. The film was re-discovered several years ago.
The winner will not only receive this incredibly rare disk, but also a CD-R (if you can;t play 16" disks) AND a DVD of the film itself with sound.

During the early days of talking pictures, The Vitaphone system synchronized a 16 inch soundtrtack disk playing at 33 1/3 rpm with the separate 35mm film. Both were started at a precise spot and indeed stayed in synch as long as the film didn't break or the needle didn't skip. For a film like this, it is doubtful that more than 100 soundtrack disks were originally pressed, and this is the only one I know of that survives for this Goldkette musically-directed short.
