Raul Gomez - Luces En La Pista - Original Cuban Vinyl LP - Cuban Disco

Product Description

ARTIST: Raul Gomez TITLE: Luces En La Pista LABEL: Areito LD-3955 SLEEVE: Good / Creases, ring wear, ripped seam. VINYL: EX(-) Played from start to finish - no skips, no jumps. Vinyl looks VG due to surfaces marks/scuffs (nothing deep) but plays EX(-). Occasional light pop/tic.

COMMENTS:From the Areito studios on St. Miguel Street in Old Havana came one of the most powerful disco albums ever recorded in Cuba. Gomez (ex: Bucaneros. Mirtha y Raul) was no novice to song writing or recording studios and produced this world class classic which went largely unheard. He fled Cuba not long after recording so this is likely the reason why this record saw a limited release and promotion. "Luces En La Pista" stands side by side his "Instrumental" LP (called by some the greatest album Barry White never recorded!!) which is the cornerstone of his career. Luces has more ideas, sophisticated arrangements and arguably is technically better produced.

This LP rarely turns up even in Cuba (unlike his "Instrumental" LP which is more common).

The flimsy jacket hasn't held well over time but the vinyl is top notch. I played graded it a touch less than EX at EX(-). Although the vinyl looks VG it plays better than it looks thanks to a good stamper.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

GRADING:

Sleeves are graded first followed by the vinyl. Example: EX/VG means that the sleeve is in excellent condition and the actual vinyl record is in Very Good condition.

All records are visually graded except where noted. Please contact me if you would like me to play the record throughout and provide you with a more detailed listening description before you place a bid.

M = Mint The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioation in sound quality... Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EX = Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VG(+) = Very Good Plus: Better than VG but not quite in EX condition.

VG = Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

VG(-) = Very Good Minus: Better than Good but not quite in VG condition.

G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

F = Fair: The record is still just playable but has been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

P = Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The record and contents will be badly damaged, or partly missing.

B = Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only used as a collection-filler.<>
