Ray LaMontagne's debut arrived in 2004 like a dispatch from another era — raw, unhurried, and steeped in the kind of Southern soul and Appalachian folk that felt nothing like what was on the radio. Produced by Ethan Johns and featuring Jennifer Stills and Sara Watkins, *Trouble* established LaMontagne as a singular voice: gravelly, aching, and completely uncompromising. It went platinum on both sides of the Atlantic and holds up as one of the decade's most quietly devastating singer-songwriter records.

This is a 20th anniversary remaster. It comes on a standard black vinyl housed in a gatefold jacket where all front text is embossed, including an embossed photo frame, giving it a tactile quality that standard pressings simply don't have. The printed inner sleeve completes the package. It's a thoughtful commemorative edition that treats the music with the care it deserves.
