Up for auction is a copy of Red Wave: 4 Underground Bands from the USSR ????. It is a 12” 33 RPM double-album vinyl LP on the Big Time Records label, catalog number 1-10020 (stereo). Produced by big-time frequent-flyer, Joanna Stingray (I wonder what was in her wallet.), this album takes us back to the Cold War era when rock ’n roll was barely tolerated in the USSR. It features four Russian bands, Aquarium, Kino, Alisa and Strange Games. Two inserts give the lyrics to the songs. Some are translated into English, others are in Russian.
I have always treated my albums with care. The plastic shrink wrap is missing from this album (That always happens to fold-out covers.) but almost everything about this album is close to perfect. The album cover barely shows wear along the edges and just a tiny bit more on the four corners. Looking hard, you can find a faint ring mark from the albums within, but only on the front cover. The paper inner linings (just plain, white paper) are perfect as far as I can tell. The records themselves looks brand new. I might have played them a couple of times but not at all in the last 30+ years. I feel secure saying that this package is in Near Mint (NM) condition.
