Blue Lake 105 - Sunnyland Slim, Red Wax
This is the real deal from 1954. Sunnyland Slim piano and booming vocal. Snooky Pryor on amplified harmonica and Floyd Jones on guitar. A side "Going Back to Memphis," is a take-off of the Rolling and Tumbling theme. B side shows Sunnyland's allegience to Dr. Clayton's vocal style. Condition of record is as follows: labels show inconsistent fading. In other words, they did not fade evenly, see pictures. Beautiful red wax has scratches and scuffs. Side A is in G condition and plays good start to finish, no skips, but with a few pops. Side B seems to have a few more pops. So side B is G-. If this record was flawless, it would fetch four figures. It is not flawless, but it is a very rare and a very desirable record. I have owned this record for about 20 years. Now its got to go to make way for something different.
