Description
Reference Recordings RR 11 Berlioz KOJIAN 2LPs 45rpm M
Reference Recordings RR 11. Berlioz, Symphonie Fantastique. Utah Symphony conducted by Varujan Kolian. Stereo, 1982. 2 LPs, gatefold cover, audiophile 45 RPM pressing on the Baker’s Dozen (Top 12) on the TAS List (Absolute Sound/HP). The symphony takes up 3 sides, so the fourth side is thoughtfully pressed with an extra copy of side 3, "which audio enthusiasts will play most often." Vinyl Never played. Cover NM.
THE RECORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN PLAYED OR TAKEN FROM THEIR SLEEVES (I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER) OR HANDLED IN ANY WAY. The cover is like new with only one slight crease visible if you look really hard. I doubt there is a better example of this in existence. This was given by Reference Recordings to exhibitors at The Consumer Electronics Show to use as demo material. I did not take the records from inside to photograph because I did not even want to move them (yes I am crazy about the condition of my records...). This record could not be "sealed" because it was delivered in a loose thick plastic cover. I have a lot of sealed albums and will be listing them first so keep tuned!
This is one of the first of many records being sold from my private collection. I was in the industry (high end audio) and have many special pressings and collectible albums that I will be listing so please check my other auctions (they are coming). My specialty is Prog rock and mint Japanese pressings, as well as audiophile pressings. All records that were actually played by me were cleaned first on a VPI cleaning machine and spun on a Micro Seiki 1500 FVG air bearing turntable with FR FR-64 Fx tonearm and Fidelity Research MC-202 cartridge. My collection has been in storage for 10 years in climate controlled environments and never exposed to pets or smoke. All albums are kept in plastic sleeves to avoid warping and most inner sleeves (if the cheap paper) have been replaced from day one of opening the album with liners made by discwasher or Mobile Fidelity.
Buyer pays $4.00 shipping and insurance fees. I ship in heavy cardboard mailers that will ensure safe passage to your door.
Condition Notes:
Records are generally graded on visual inspection.
Mint: A brand new, SEALED record, never played.
NM: Near Mint. An unsealed record that looks as good as new.
VG++: Excellent. Light cosmetic flaws that should not affect the sound.
VG+: May have cosmetic flaws, mild surface noise or short patches of ticking, but should sound fine overall.
VG: May have moderate noise throughout or one or two bad patches from scratches. Still fine for general listening.
Good: Noisy, but plays through. I will only sell very rare or unusual items in this condition.
Please contact me for a refund if a record plays worse than described.
