Description

It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.

They went to lots of parties.

That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.

HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).

This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..

Please bear that in mind when reading my descriptions.

Here we have Desmond Dekker and The Aces with an original Jamaican pressing of “Mother Long Tongue”, backed by wonderful Roland Alphonso and the Beverley’s All Stars doing a trouser-bursting version of “Halls Of Montezuma”.

It’s on the legendary Beverley’s label, number SR 028 released in 1967!

It is battered but un-bowed with a moderate number of not-too-lethal light scratches.

These don’t matter a hill o’ beans.

It’s cut VERY LOUD and it plays VERY WELL, without hop, skip or jump.

Let’s call it a very useful VG heading towards VG+ but sounding much better than that.

Fill your boots.

Buy more than one item and you might get a postal discount.

I am not a dealer.

I am just a very old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of STUFF before the floor collapses (or I do).

I'm selling most of this stuff for much less

than I paid for it.

What a great business plan (I don't think)!

I am certainly NOT INTERESTED IN PROFIT..

..and indeed, seldom make any!

What little profit I do make goes to help

a very splendid Wildlife Rescue Charity.

The item in the photograph is the item you will get.

I have described everything to the best of my ability, and it looks in very useful condition to me.

Please check the photographs to decide for yourself.

NO OVERSEAS bidders please.

And NO OVERSEAS bidders using UK addresses please.

I am a simple sort, and I want my buyers to be happy. If there is any kind of problem, I like to sort it out personally. I can’t do this if you’re thousands of miles away!
