Peer International PIL 9023, ‘Reggae for Real’. Original UK library LP, 1973. Cover: excellent (very light ink marking in the top right-hand corner). Vinyl: mint-. All compositions by the Ian Langley.

Highly sought-after killer funk LP from one of the rarest & strongest library labels of them all. Peer International pressed up their records in tiny, tiny quantities, & the good ones like this are hence notoriously difficult-to-get-hold-of collectors’ items. Check the heavyweight organ funk groove of ‘Chicano Chaser’ & the manic, off-beat synth funk of ‘Frantique’ & ‘Moon Baby’.
