RARE Original Master Recording Audiophile Pressing -- Classic Records LSC-1806
STEREO 33 RPM 180 gram LP -- UNPLAYED first edition, first pressing

UNPLAYED Classic Records first edition (1995) virgin vinyl original master recording 180 gram 33 RPM LP, jacket, and rice paper sleeve are all in beautiful Mint- condition (near mint -- our highest grade for an opened item)! This rare and coveted audiophile gem has been stored in a protective plastic sleeve (to protect against shelfwear) and between cardboard liners (to protect against ringwear) in a smoke & pet-free, climate controlled home. I purchased this when it was first released by Classic Records and have carefully stored and protected it ever since. There are no cutout marks, seam splits, ringwear, abrasions, or any other issues with this item.

HISTORICAL NOTE ABOUT THIS PRESSING
This was the first Classic pressing of this legendary audiophile title. Mastered by Bernie Grundman from the original RCA Living Stereo master session tapes using an all analogue system, it was pressed on high grade virgin vinyl at RTI for the ultimate in audiophile sound, This particular LP is well known for its STUNNING SOUND QUALITY!!!
This 1990's Classic Records 1st pressing is FAR SUPERIOR to the later 200 gram Classic version, which like many other 200 gram Classic pressings suffered from inconsistent pressing quality and vinyl formulation issues. This 1st pressing is also superior to the Alto edition, which comes from later runs made with the same stampers.
While Classic Records 1990's era RTI-pressed 180 gram first pressings are on more audiophile BEST LP lists than all other audiophile pressings combined, most of Classic's later 200 gram reissues are well known to the audiophile community as highly problematic -- largely because of Classic's bold but unfortunately poorly executed attempt to use "flat" dies, the use of a new pressing plant that had inferior equipment and poor quality control, and the use of a wide variety of vinyl formulations -- notwithstanding marketing hype to the contrary.  Even more unfortunate, just as Classic started to get a handle on these later-day issues and seemed on the verge of producing great LPs again, the company abruptly (and I think tragically for vinyl lovers everywhere) ceased production and folded.
