RCA LSC-1806-Living Stereo

  1958 release, 33 1/3 RPM LP, Living Stereo press featuring the great Fritz Reiner conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a program of Strauss.  Album was recorded with the legendary RCA Victor "Living Stereo" process, which produced audiophile-quality recordings which are regarded today as having been well ahead of their time. This particular title, according to our reference books, is the first of the Reiner Living Stereo, and also one of the most valuable, listing for up to $150. Copy at hand is a highly desirable first pressing with all the early markings. Cover is nicely preserved with only slight wear overall. Quarter inch split at top right.  Disc (red label with silver print, "shaded dog", "deep groove") is clean, glossy and Near Mint. Dead wax reads: "I" (desirable Indiana pressing), "1S/1S" (lowest possible stamper numbers), "A1/A1" (lowest possible mother numbers). Vinyl grades a solid Near Mint visually, but the disc does appear to have a bit of minor groovewear, and plays with moderate surface noise.
