As promised, I will continue listing a small number of collectibles each week this summer, in spite of a sluggish economy and typical summer lull in ebay sales. I simply need to keep gas in my car.  As usual, my shipping rates are only 1 dollar over actual rate, simply to cover my box tape and labels. My conservative grading chart is below and as one can see, my grading is more conservative than most. All condition issue will be addressed so there is no guessing. Bid with confidence

Here is the highly sought after 'Return Of Art Pepper' LP. I had the honor of selling his Modern Art album last year. This is the second most valuable and is in decent condition. Not only was he a master of sax, but he sure was a good lookin' guy. :)

Format: Mono
Disk: is as close to EX as a VG+ record can get. Beautiful gloss, no marks worthy of addressing, quite nice. I am still gonna say EX. Very well-kept for a 52 year old item. Any signs of use can only be seen under bright light, thus many sellers would say near mint.
Cover: The cover is definitely VG+ for being 52 years old. No splits or writing, some minor corner wear and paper loss on top left. Still quite presentable.
Inner Sleeve: plain
Comments: You won't find one of these every day. Don't let me down as I start bidding at year of release.



My Record Grading

SS - Still Sealed - I have no idea what is inside and cannot be accountable for company flaws. Hopefully the record os in absolute MINT condition. I will report any signs of imperfections in my descriptions. Usually this is as good as it gets for vinyl records.
NM - Has no marks or surface noise, full gloss and clean labels. Covers will have no addressable wear, crisp seams and corners.
EX - Very close to NM but might have only LIGHT surface marks that are ONLY visible under bright light. Should play flawlessly. Covers show only the slightest shelfwear if any at all.
VG+ - Disk might have superficial marks that do NOT affect play, has NO audible scratches. Might have rare occasional dust ticks audible between tracks. It is a well kept record that shows normal but careful use. Cover shows it's age but has no serious ringwear or splits.
VG - Means VERY GOOD. The record is in realistic condition, but has NO deep scratches, skips or annoying surface noise. Might have light surface sound between tracks and quiet areas. But plays very good for an old record. Covers might have ringwear, minor splits and even writing, but is still presentable or even restorable.
G - Is an old used record that still plays good without skips. This is the condition of most 50s and 60s records and are usually not found for sale unless they are very rare. The cover still holds the record.

I ship records in a professional way. The disk will be sent out of the cover, packing assures safety to the cover. Shipping rates are only .60 over actual rate to cover box and new 3 ml.poly sleeve. Media Mail includes delivery confirmation. West Coast buyers will have Priority Mail rate adjusted with invoice @ .75 less. Canada buyers use lower rate of 6.50. I do combine shipping. Up to 3 LPs for same Media Mail rate. Add .50 after 3. Add 1.00 each added via Priority. Europe add 3.00 up to 3 albums. After that, it goes to more expensive Air Mail Parcel Post.

 Yes I do 'play grade'. My assessment is based upon a medium between 'play grade' and 'visual grade'. This rarity is on Jazz West Records and has typical ambient 'hiss' of a small record company pressing. But the 'a bit more inferior than major label sound quality' is quickly overlooked by the hot recording. Every note is up front and the drum and cymbal miking are stellar. This item sound quite close to the way it sounded when it was bought. I am sure most vinyl collectors understand what I am saying. Vinyl 'dimples' are visible, as on all of them made. There are no problems with this record. There are not many of these around and they all were made in this quality. This record is so cool, the small company quality is a bonus. Also, the answer is yes. That is a minor crease at the top left. But it is more noticible in the photo. It is not much of an issue in real viewing. As stated, there is about 1.5" of paper loss on the top left. But the cover is pretty decent for it's age.
