Up for grabs is this super obscure, highly collectable and extremely hard edged mentalist Prog Funk 45, by one of the most respected artists of his generation and most recently coming to the attention of a whole new generation of Funk, Prog, Psych and OST collectors thanks to the relentlessly hard work of certain fanatics who catalogue this man's work which spans 3 decades and takes in influences from Rock, Classical and black musics. Reverberri is a maverick arranger, producer and pianist who gave us a number of unique and very groovy records like Timer, Stairway to Heaven and his self titled LP on Pausa. Here he turns out some filthy hard edged nasty Funk under the mysteriously named Hot Underground Group, AKA The Underground Set who themselves gave us their seriously tough S/T LP on Radio records and a year later, the uber rare Prog Grail War in the Night Before on Tickle. Let's not forget their brilliant string of hipster art school cover 45's too!
So to the 45... CH4 kicks off with a full on LSD trip intro featuring Reverberri's childlike piano theme before the instrumental layers begin to build. A deep rolling bass line kicks in followed by an acid drenched fuzz guitar which is accompanied by some very wigged out supernatural vocals ala Braen/Raskovitch style like hipster witches descending on a dance floor! Then suddenly the drums explode and we're in classic Psychedelic Funk party mode as a fully charged flute led dance floor bomb builds and builds, its unrelenting groove never stops! It's The Underground Set of course so intensely Psyched out Funk is what we get. Much like their very groovy party friendly 45's, CH4 is an obvious choice for lovers of Psychedelic Funk and those who dig the Sonor Editions output or the Finders Keepers vibe. This is a super rare and sought after 45 in excellent studio stock condition so please bid with utmost confidence!
